Life Advocate Intensive

You are a leader of the pro-life movement! Your involvement in a pro-life group already sets you apart from the rest of the culture. But now you have a great responsibility: the unborn need you RIGHT NOW. There are students on your campus that urgently need to hear the pro-life message. Your group will be the only pro-life voice at your school, and you could be the only one standing between a student and her abortion appointment. The unborn need you, are you prepared to save them?

The Life Advocate Intensive is your opportunity to learn how to share the reality of abortion in truth and love. You will learn from the best in pro-life apologetics and outreach. You will stand beside pro-life students across the state, and you will change hearts. And you'll take this experience back to your school to be the absolute best defender you can be.

What: The Life Advocate Intensive is the best activism training for students in Michigan. It's a three day retreat in which you will receive training on how to respond to pro-choice arguments and apply that training on the streets of Grand Rapids. Nervous about outreach? You're not alone. That's why we're giving you this opportunity to shadow and learn from the pros.

You will leave this program equipped to share your pro-life beliefs, confident in your ability to dialogue with others, and encouraged after standing on the front lines next to pro-lifers across the state. There is no other training like this in Michigan.

Who: All high school and college students who are interested in maximizing their impact on campus.

When: August 6th-8th, 2020 (Thursday through Saturday)

Where: Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Cost: To increase commitment, we are charging $75 for admission. We provide lodging, meals, and all learning materials.Interested students must apply and be accepted to participate. After attending, you will receive a $25 rebate. You must be present and punctual on all 3 days to receive your rebate.

Please note, we will be using abortion victim photography as part of the outreach. You can find an example of what we will be doing here.

Due to low capacity and high interest, students must apply & be accepted to this program. While we would love to have every single student attend, we have limited space at our venue. We will notify you when your application has been accepted.

Volunteer Agreement

All Protect Life Michigan (PLM) volunteers are required to certify in writing that they will abide by this Volunteer Agreement. If anyone refuses to or does not sign this agreement, that person will not be allowed to participate with PLM.

I understand that if I disregard or violate this volunteer agreement, I may be required to discontinue participation with PLM at the discretion of PLM.
I will complete all required preparation work before coming to PLM’s Life Advocate Intensive.
I will complete all work on time and participate actively in the discussions, outreach, and exercises.
I will always treat people with respect, even if they are angry and/or verbally abusive. I will not shout at people.
I will never trespass on private property or disrupt any event at which a PLM display takes place. I will obey all applicable laws.
I will direct media, university officials, or law enforcement officials to a site leader.
If passers-by threaten PLM’s property, I will alert a site leader. I will not attempt to physically intervene.
If passers-by threaten PLM staff, volunteers, and/or myself, I will call for law enforcement officers. If I am unable to remove myself and others from the presence of threatening persons, I understand that I am allowed to take lawful steps to protect others and myself from risk of injury.
I will neither carry nor have any weapons (including firearms) with me.
